Magnetic particles with a carboxyl group (-COOH) are supplied as an aqueous suspension ready for use. The use of particles is also possible in automatic separation systems.
Magnetic particles with a carboxyl group make it possible to covalently immobilize antibodies or a protein, as well as 5'-amino modified oligonucleotides.
The particles are a paramagnetic core encapsulated in a shell coated with a hydrophilic inert carrier. The particles have a high density of active COOH groups on the surface, allowing highly efficient covalent bonding.
The main advantage of these particles is that they have a low nonspecific sorption of proteins and nucleic acids on their surface.
Covalent binding of a protein on the surface of particles makes it possible for:
- immunomagnetic isolation of unique cells or proteins from biological fluids,
- increasing the sensitivity of immunological studies by concentrating a specific material
Coupling an oligonucleotide probe on the surface of particles is used for:
- immunomagnetic isolation of unique nucleotide sequences (including mRNA, free from impurities of foreign nucleic acids) from biological fluids and cells
- increasing the sensitivity of studies by concentrating a specific material
We recommend using these particles for coupling of nucleotide probes. The surface of the particles has minimal nonspecific sorption, which makes it possible to successfully remove the nonspecific components.
