Cell cultures

Cultures of animal cells are often used as models for different studies. Cell cultures are a good replacement for living animals. Not to mention the ethical aspect, it is much more efficient to use cell cultures due to lower interferences caused by side factors.

Cell cultures can be used to study effects of different pathogens and chemicals. They can also be used to study changes in expression of different genes. Standardized, reliable and reproducible isolation of nucleic acids is especially important in the last case.
